And then in cottages and houses at The Colony. I walked down around the Lighthouse twice a day and often saw nary a soul on the beach. Or, if there was someone, they would just hand me a beautiful olive or shark's eye, and go on their way. Ah, the shells then!Paddle boards and kayaks are readily available at many motels, inns and resorts on Sanibel and Captiva. Sanibel is definitely more Old Florida, small town, island time kind of place. Nature is first and foremost on the island. Marco is more suburban Florida built on an island, with all the bells and whistles.
